We take the time to know you and understand your goals, personality, circumstances and experiences. We know that creating a financial plan is a collaborative process, and we work together with you to explore the best possible solutions.
Because most people are guarded about their own financial lives, they are left with few people to discuss their concerns, aspirations and financial decisions with. We take on the role of that ‘other voice’ – providing you with expert guidance.
We hold you to account on your obligations in your financial plan, and help map your progress towards objectives. We know that circumstances can change, and we revise plans to ensure that they are attainable, suitable and reasonable.

Our Fees
Our remuneration model is transparent and you’ll only remunerate us for what you need, we won’t sell you anything else. Our business consists of two parts – planning and implementation. While we firmly believe that the biggest benefit can be derived by allowing us to help you with both the planning and implementation, we understand that individual needs and circumstances differ and have, therefore, adapted our servicing model to allow for both. Just as important is that our fee model also allows for this.
Our fees will be determined by the services you require, and may include the following:
- We can invoice you for once-off or ad-hoc planning and advice.
- You can pay us a monthly retainer that covers the initial analysis and planning, as well as all queries, consultations, scheduled and ad-hoc reviews.
- Ongoing investment advice fees are deducted monthly from investments that are made on our recommendation and that we monitor and administer on your behalf.
- Commission on certain insurance policies that are implemented on our recommendation and that we manage on your behalf, are paid to us directly by the product provider.
You will always be informed what our fees are or how much commission we may earn before you are asked to make a decision.
Once-off and ad-hoc fees are based on the complexity of your individual situation and time spent on the analysis, planning, discussion and feedback. The fee will be explained and confirmed with you prior to proceeding.
The monthly retainer is determined by the complexity of your individual situation and the services you require from us. Once we have the necessary information to formulate a good understanding of this, we will confirm the fee with you before entering into an agreement to provide the ongoing service.
Investment advice fees are calculated as a percentage of the value of the investment and deducted from the investment. Delfin does not charge upfront fees on investments, only ongoing fees.
Commission on insurance policies is included in the monthly premium. It is calculated by the insurer and is based on the premium and the term of the insurance. For clients that pay a monthly retainer, a portion of this commission may be applied to reduce your monthly retainer.

Meeting You
We get to know you, find out what you hope to achieve by working with us. The conversation usually lasts about an hour and is free of charge.

Building an Asset Map
You can share documents and information with us that is pertinent to your financial life, and we build an asset map with you. No long questionnaires and policy schedules, just a conversation that helps us identify your current financial position.

Your Financial Picture
Once you’ve decided to work with us, we determine what strategies we need to put in place to reach your financial goals. This workshop usually lasts two hours.

Our Financial Audit
We look through any existing investments, policies, documents and agreements that you have in place – and draw up a plan to implement any important changes. We may make recommendations about your current policies, review existing investments and suggest possible alternatives.

The Thumbs Up
With your go-ahead, we take on the role of your financial go-to. We are here for you, for any activity related to your finances: from buying a house, to administration or ensuring a car. We build a relationship with you, and play an important role in managing your financial affairs.

A Long Term Relationship
We will meet for a formal annual review, and regularly get in touch with you to discuss your current finances, as well as your goals and aspirations. We are your shoulder to lean on, and ensure that your financial needs are executed seamlessly.
